Prêt à Boire Rosé is a limited-production Napa Valley rosé crafted by renowned winemaker Heidi Barrett, known as the "First Lady of Wine" by critic Robert Parker. The name "Prêt à Boire" means "ready to drink" in French, signaling this wine requires no cellaring and is best enjoyed upon release.
The wine is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah sourced from East Rutherford hills vineyards in Napa Valley, made in the traditional southern French Provençal style. It presents a beautiful salmon-pink color with soft floral aromas, notes of watermelon rind, crushed strawberries, and wild raspberries, balanced by lively acidity and a dry, refreshing finish. Critics have awarded it 90–91 points, with tasting notes highlighting cranberry, chalk, mint, white pepper, and lavender. It pairs well with light fare, seafood, and charcuterie, and can be enjoyed as a sophisticated aperitif.
The label features artwork by the late Louisiana artist George Rodrigue, a longtime friend of the Barrett family, whose vivid and whimsical "Blue Dog" paintings have become iconic in American folk art.
