San Simeon Viognier is a bright, luscious white wine from the Paso Robles appellation in San Luis Obispo County, California. Crafted from 100% Viognier grapes, it is made by San Antonio Winery under the San Simeon label, which draws fruit from certified sustainable vineyards in Paso Robles.
The wine opens with bright floral aromas alongside notes of apricot, lavender, peach, and orange rind. On the palate it is medium-bodied and well-balanced, with flavors of ripe peach, nectarine, green papaya, and tropical fruit, finishing with mineral notes that reflect the rocky terroir of the El Pomar District. It is fermented and aged in 100% stainless steel to preserve its fresh, aromatic character. Alcohol is approximately 14.9% ABV and the bottle features a convenient screw cap closure.
San Simeon Viognier has earned numerous critical accolades, including 91 Points and Best Buy from Wine Enthusiast (2023), 90 Points from James Suckling (2021), 92 Points from Wine Spectator (2018), and Gold Medal at the California State Fair (2022). It pairs beautifully with Chinese chicken salad, linguine with clams, light seafood dishes, and aromatic Asian cuisine. The San Simeon vineyards are certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA), and the Paso Robles winery operates on 100% solar electricity with reclaimed wastewater systems.
