Domaine Grand Veneur Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Le Miocène" is a distinguished red wine from the southern Rhône Valley of France, produced by Alain Jaume & Fils. The wine takes its name from the Miocene-era marine molasses soils of the appellation, which are covered by alpine alluvium and contribute to its distinctive mineral character.

The blend is composed of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, vinified with Grenache in concrete tanks and the remaining varieties in older barriques. The result is a wine of deep, intense dark-ruby color with a nose of ripe red and black fruits, blackberry, cherry, licorice, black olive, peppery garrigue, and spice. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with ripe, well-integrated tannins, a refined texture, and a long, smoky finish.

This wine is built to age gracefully for 10 to 12 or more years, making it equally suited to immediate enjoyment or extended cellaring. It pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, braised beef, game, and aged cheeses.
