E. Guigal Château d'Ampuis Côte-Rôtie is a flagship single-vineyard red wine from the Northern Rhône Valley of France, produced by the renowned Guigal estate. The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, home of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. The estate's vineyards are over 2,400 years old, with ancient terraced hillsides dating to the Roman period still visible today.

Château d'Ampuis is assembled from seven of the most exceptional plots of the Guigal domaine, crafted exclusively from Syrah with the possible addition of a small amount of Viognier. The hallmark of this wine is an unbelievably seductive perfume full of sweet black fruits and spices, with an elegance that persists despite intense concentration of fruit — prunes, blackberry, chocolate, and cherry liqueur — layered with notes of charred cedar, tobacco, camphor, and spice cake. The wine is impressively balanced, with solid tannins well-rounded by extended oak aging, and finishes with exceptional length and complexity.

This 750ML bottle is approachable upon release and has the structure to cellar for decades. It achieves consistently outstanding critical acclaim across vintages, regularly scoring in the 94–96 point range from major critics.
