The Balvenie 40 Year Old Rare Marriages Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an extraordinary expression from one of Scotland's most prestigious independent distilleries. Crafted by master blender David Stewart, this whisky brings together a marriage of rare casks, each aged a minimum of 40 years in traditional American and European oak, and bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof). The Balvenie Distillery, founded in 1886 in the Speyside region of Scotland, is the only single malt distillery that continues to grow and malt its own barley on its adjacent 1,000-acre Balvenie Mains farm. The whisky is distilled in the distillery's signature copper-pot stills, whose unique "Balvenie Bowl" boil balls contribute to its bold, malty character.
