Chryseia is a prestigious red wine from Portugal's Douro Valley, created through a partnership between the French Prats family (former owners of Château Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux) and the Portuguese Symington family (Port producers since 1882). The name "Chryseia" means "golden" in Greek, reflecting this wine's status as one of the leading red table wines from the Douro region.

This full-bodied red blend is crafted from 60% Touriga Nacional and 40% Touriga Franca grapes sourced from premium estate vineyards including Quinta de Roriz, Quinta da Perdiz, and Vila Velha. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged for 15 months in mostly new French oak barrels (80% new, 400-liter capacity), bringing a Bordeaux perspective to traditional Douro fruit.

On the palate, Chryseia delivers rich and powerful character with astonishing roundness of tannins. The nose presents upfront fruit notes of plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry tart, complemented by touches of mocha, dark chocolate, Earl Grey tea, violet, graphite, dried porcini, and dried herbs. The silky and velvety tannins are perfectly integrated with the oak, followed by a very fresh and long aftertaste with savory character. Despite being seductive and approachable even at an early stage, this wine has excellent aging potential of 10+ years.
