The vineyard is named after John C. Sullenger, who settled the land in the 1880s, and sits directly behind the winery on 30 acres of rich clay loam soil planted exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine is produced entirely from Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, delivering a concentrated and expressive style that is considered the heart and soul of the Nickel & Nickel portfolio. On the palate, it presents seductive dark fruit and spice framed by the classic structured tannins for which Oakville is renowned. Recent vintages have been praised for their bold intensity balanced by refined structure and a long aging potential, with the 2023 vintage earning a 96-point score from Wine Advocate.
