Domaine Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru is a Premier Cru white Burgundy from one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte de Beaune, France. Made entirely from Chardonnay, this wine expresses the finest qualities of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation with hallmark elegance and precision.
The estate traces its history to the early 20th century, when Etienne Sauzet assembled a portfolio of top-tier vineyard plots in Puligny-Montrachet. Today, the domaine is run by Emilie Boudot and her husband Benoît Riffault, continuing a tradition of estate-bottling and aging wines on their lees for 10–12 months to develop richness and complexity. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically, reflecting a deep commitment to terroir expression and sustainable viticulture.
On the nose, expect floral aromas layered with fresh green apple, citrus, mineral reduction, and hints of beeswax. The palate is rich and full-bodied with ripe apple fruit, a mineral backbone, and a long, refined finish. The wine is fermented in French oak casks with approximately 20% new wood before aging for two winters, yielding a superbly structured and elegant expression of Premier Cru Burgundy.
