Oberon Merlot is a rich, expressive California red wine crafted from grapes sourced in Napa Valley's renowned Oakville district. Winemaker Tony Coltrin, a Napa Valley native with over 50 years of experience, carefully selects fruit from vineyards where deep alluvial soils and the perfect balance of cool mornings and warm afternoons create ideal conditions for growing Bordeaux varietals.

The wine is a blend of 88.79% Merlot, 9.1% Syrah, and 2.11% Zinfandel. Small lots of Syrah and Zinfandel are incorporated specifically to add a dark, velvety character to the lush berry profile of the Merlot. After harvest, the grapes undergo extended maceration to naturally soften tannins and enhance varietal complexity. The wine is then pressed and transferred to French oak barrels (45% new oak) for 12 months, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation for roundness and depth.

Dense black fruit aromas lead to boysenberry and chocolate flavors on the palate, with supple, well-integrated tannins and a smooth, elegant finish. Alcohol: 13.9%. The 2022 vintage received 92 points from Wine Enthusiast.
