Williams Selyem Sonoma County Pinot Noir is a premium California red wine from one of the most celebrated Pinot Noir producers in Sonoma County. Founded in the late 1970s by Burt Williams and Ed Selyem as a garage project in Forestville, the winery has achieved cult status for its small-production, high-quality wines.
This Pinot Noir is sourced from diverse vineyards across Russian River Valley and the Sonoma Coast. The wine features strawberry and cherry notes with hints of red fruits, citrus, lavender, and sassafras. Polished and elegantly textured tannins are coupled with seamless acidity and a soft, approachable finish. It is barrel aged for 11 months in a mix of 25% new, 49% one-year, and 26% two-year French oak barrels. The wine carries 13.70% alcohol by volume. The 2022 vintage received 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, who praised its vibrant and lavish character with brilliant tangerine acid and cola spice on the finish. Optimal drinking window is 2025 through 2032.
