Bodegas Aalto's Old Vine Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero is a 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) red wine crafted by celebrated winemaker Mariano García, who founded Bodegas Aalto in 1999 after three decades as technical director at the legendary Vega Sicilia estate. Sourced from meticulously selected old vineyards ranging from 40 to 80 years in age, the grapes are drawn from nine villages spread across the provinces of Burgos and Valladolid, with this diversity of terroirs contributing depth and complexity to the final wine.

The wine displays a deep, rich profile characterized by concentrated flavors of plum, blackberry, cocoa, and licorice, accented by mineral and fresh tobacco notes. It is aged for approximately 18 to 20 months in a combination of 85% French and 15% American oak barrels, yielding a muscular yet graceful structure with ripe, balanced tannins and a long, elegant finish. Consistently celebrated by top critics, it was ranked the sixth-best wine in the world by Wine Spectator in 2015 for the 2012 vintage.
