Clos de Tafall is a bold, full-bodied red blend crafted by Clos Berenguer, a family-run estate nestled at the foot of the Montsant mountains in Priorat, one of Spain's most celebrated and demanding wine regions. The wine is a blend of 55% Grenache, 35% Carignan, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from old vines grown on Priorat's legendary llicorella soil — a rugged mix of slate and quartz that forces roots deep and produces remarkably concentrated fruit. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak and carries 14.5% ABV.
On the nose, ripe blackberries, cherries, and plums intertwine with dried herbs, lavender, vanilla, and a hint of spice. The palate is full-textured and well-structured, with velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of dark fruit, cassis, black olive, and milk chocolate underscored by mineral and graphite notes. The finish is long and elegant with a lingering black-pepper warmth. Rated 92 points by Wine Enthusiast, it drinks beautifully now and will continue to develop through 2035.
Pairs well with red meats, cured meats, and hearty pasta dishes. Contains sulfites.
