The J. Bookwalter Winery Notebook Red is an approachable and fruit-forward red blend sourced from Washington State's Columbia Valley appellation. The wine is crafted by winemaker Cameron Parry and blends 62% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Syrah, 4% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot into a smooth, everyday-drinking red.
On the nose, this wine delivers aromas of ripe dark cherry, dried plums, baking spices, dark chocolate, and hints of graphite and cola. The palate follows with a juicy, full entry of dark cherries, plums, and black currants, a suave mid-palate with a spicy edge of clove and black pepper, and soft, silky tannins balanced by moderate acidity. The finish is smooth, clean, and lingering.
The Bookwalter family brings ten generations of American agricultural heritage to their winemaking. Founder Jerry Bookwalter helped establish some of Washington's most iconic vineyards — Sagemoor, Bacchus, and Dionysus — before launching the winery that his son John now helms. The Notebook label is their signature value-driven bottling, earning 90 Points from Wine Enthusiast.
This wine pairs beautifully with barbecue, saucy baby back ribs, crispy burnt ends, and hearty grilled meats. Each bottle is 750ml.
