Founder 56 Emmentaler is an award-winning Swiss-style cheese crafted by the Rothenbühler family, a third-generation cheesemaking enterprise rooted in Swiss tradition. This Gold Medal winner from the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest delivers authentic Old-World Emmentaler flavor with a rich, nutty taste and smooth, creamy texture, featuring the characteristic eyes (holes) that Swiss cheese is known for.
The cheese is made in Middlefield, Ohio using traditional techniques passed down from Master Cheesemaker Hans Rothenbühler, who trained in Switzerland's Emmental Valley, the birthplace of Swiss cheese. Founder 56 Emmentaler is versatile and pairs beautifully with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinot Noir, or Merlot. It elevates gourmet sandwiches, Reubens, fondue, queso dips, cheese boards, pizza, quesadillas, grilled cheese, and quiche.
