Delamotte Blanc de Blancs is a prestige non-vintage Champagne crafted entirely from 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes sourced from the legendary Côte des Blancs vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, France. Delamotte is one of the five oldest Champagne houses in France, founded in 1760, and operates at the heart of the Côte des Blancs terroir — a region celebrated for its chalky soils that impart a distinctive mineral purity to its wines.
The wine is vinified entirely in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and purity. A modest addition of reserve wines (up to 10% maximum) ensures consistency across vintages while maintaining a pronounced mineral character. What truly distinguishes this cuvée is its exceptional aging regime: the wine matures on the lees for four to five years, far exceeding the statutory minimum of fifteen months, resulting in a champagne of remarkable finesse, depth, and elegance.
On the palate, Delamotte Blanc de Blancs offers a creamy mousse with flavors of baked white cherry, poached apricot, candied lemon peel, brioche, and ginger — grounded by a chalky, saline minerality. Best served chilled at approximately 8°C (46°F) in a tulip-shaped glass to allow its fine mineral character to fully develop. An ideal aperitif and a classic pairing with oysters, grilled fish, and crunchy radishes with fleur de sel.
This bottling has received widespread critical acclaim, including 93 points from Wine Advocate, 93 points from James Suckling, 92 points from Wine Spectator, 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, and a Master medal from The Drinks Business Champagne Masters. Available at Costco in a case of 6 x 750ML bottles.
