Herradura Selección Suprema is a landmark Extra Añejo tequila from Tequila Herradura, one of Mexico's most storied distilleries, operating since 1870 at Hacienda San José del Refugio in the Tequila Valley of Jalisco. Originally unveiled in 1994, Selección Suprema holds the distinction of being the world's first Extra Añejo tequila — a category Herradura pioneered years before it became an official classification. The brand is now imported by Brown-Forman.

Made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown on the distillery's own land, the liquid is double-distilled and then aged for 49 months in American White Oak barrels — far exceeding the Extra Añejo minimum of three years. The extended aging imparts a rich golden caramel color and a deeply layered complexity that draws frequent comparisons to premium aged whiskey or bourbon.

On the nose, Selección Suprema opens with vivid cooked agave, cinnamon, tobacco leaf, rose petal, and vanilla. The palate delivers a beautiful balance of toasted agave and oak, rich vanilla, spiced pecans, and a hint of orange peel. The finish is buttery smooth and warm, lingering with soft sweetness and toasted oak. The expression has earned 41 awards since 2006, including 25 Gold and Double Gold medals.
