San Matias Extra Añejo Gran Reserva is a landmark tequila from Casa San Matías, distilled in Jalisco, Mexico from 100% blue agave. First released in 1993, it holds the distinction of being the world's first Extra Añejo tequila, pioneering the ultra-premium aged category decades before it became an official NOM designation.

Aged for a full 36 months in French oak barrels, this expression achieves exceptional smoothness and complexity. On the nose it offers aromas of brûléed banana, butter, dark chocolate, and roasted agave. The palate is medium-bodied with roasted agave sweetness, hazelnut, toasted almond, and hints of babka, finishing with a sweet, medium-length finish that is notably clean without the added sugar found in many competing high-end tequilas.

Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) in a 750mL format, this tequila earned a Gold Medal at the World Tequila Awards 2017 and is consistently recognized as an outstanding value for the Extra Añejo category.
