Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair Sun and Shade is a revolutionary 3-in-1 formula that makes fixing bare spots in your lawn simple and effective. This all-in-one solution combines high-performance grass seed, super-absorbent mulch that holds 6 times its weight in water, and continuous release fertilizer to get new grass off to a great start.

The seed blend contains Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, creeping red fescue, and chewings fescue, formulated to grow in the toughest conditions including full sun, dense shade, high-traffic areas, and even on slopes. The 25 lb bag covers up to 556 sq. ft. of bare spots. The mulch acts as a protective barrier for seeds and features a color-changing indicator that turns from dark brown to light brown when it's time to water, taking the guesswork out of lawn care.

Application is straightforward: prepare the spot by clearing dead grass and roughing up the soil, apply EZ Seed evenly by hand until the area is mostly covered with a little ground still visible, then water deeply until the mulch is completely saturated. Seedlings typically emerge in 5-7 days with proper care, and grass can be mowed once it reaches 3 inches tall. The fertilizer analysis is 1-0-0 NPK. Plant in spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55°F and 70°F, or air temperatures between 60°F and 80°F.
