Matarromera Crianza is an iconic 100% Tempranillo red wine from Bodegas Matarromera, located in Valbuena de Duero in the acclaimed Ribera del Duero appellation of Castilla y León, Spain. Its inaugural 1994 vintage was awarded the title of Best Wine in the World at an international competition organized by the Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation (OIVE), establishing it as one of Spain's most celebrated red wines. The grapes are sourced from vineyards close to the Duero River in the municipalities of Olivares and Valbuena de Duero, grown in calcareous-clay soils under a harsh climate with significant temperature fluctuations that concentrate flavor and complexity.

The wine is aged for 12 months in selected fine-grained, soft-toasted French and American oak barrels, followed by additional bottle aging before release. It presents a deep cherry color with purple glints. On the nose it is highly complex and harmonious, offering ripe strawberry, blackberry, and fig aromas intertwined with milky notes and barrel-derived hints of vanilla, coffee, toast, leather, and cocoa. On the palate it is powerful yet refined, with sweet polished tannins perfectly balanced by spicy and fruity flavors and a smooth, long-lasting finish.
