A premium Southern Rhône red wine from the Gigondas appellation in France, made exclusively for Costco by winemaker Guillaume Gonnet of Domaine Font de Michelle. This classic GSM blend combines 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre from vines grown in the Southern Rhône Valley, just northeast of the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape region.

The 2023 vintage showcases exceptional winemaking with a medium to deep ruby color and a complex aromatic profile of black cherry, strawberry, leather, and black olives with earthy, meaty notes and hints of garrigue herbs. On the palate, the wine delivers vibrant flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and plum with abundant peppery spice throughout. Full-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, it features additional notes of leather, espresso, fig jam, cocoa powder, licorice, and herbs de Provence. The wine displays velvety tannins and good balance with a dry, long, grippy finish that carries tart fruit, black pepper, and lingering licorice.

The 2023 vintage benefited from outstanding growing conditions in Gigondas, resulting in a fruit-forward, full-bodied wine that is ready to drink now but will continue to develop nicely with a few years of aging. The wine was slightly tight on initial pour, so decanting or allowing time to breathe in the glass is recommended to fully appreciate its complexity. Alcohol content is 14.5%.
