Wild Coho Salmon, also known as Silver Salmon, is a premium wild-caught fish harvested from the pristine, cold waters of Alaska. This skin-on fillet offers a slightly milder, cleaner flavor profile compared to Sockeye, with a medium oil content and firm texture that pairs well with a wide range of seasonings and cooking preparations, making it a versatile choice for everyday meals and special occasions alike.
The salmon is flash-frozen shortly after harvest to lock in peak freshness and preserve its natural quality, then thawed and sold fresh at the Costco warehouse seafood counter by the pound. Flash-freezing also eliminates the risk of parasites, ensuring food safety without compromising flavor or texture. The flesh displays a characteristic deep red-orange color typical of wild Pacific salmon.
Wild Coho Salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein and heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids including DHA and EPA, which support brain function, cardiovascular health, and reduced inflammation. It is naturally free of carbohydrates and rich in B vitamins, selenium, and potassium. Suitable for baking, grilling, pan-searing, broiling, or air-frying. Cook to an internal temperature of 145°F per FDA guidelines; for optimal moisture retention, many cooks prefer a target temperature of 125–135°F.
