Colonel E.H. Taylor Four Grain is a rare, limited-release Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It features an unconventional four-grain mashbill — corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley — a configuration that sets it apart from virtually every other expression in the E.H. Taylor lineup and makes it one of the rarest mashbill configurations in American whiskey. Standard bourbon uses three grains; the addition of wheat alongside rye creates a layered mid-palate where rye's spice and wheat's softness interact simultaneously. This expression was distilled in 2005, aged 12 years, and bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV). Like all E.H. Taylor releases, it arrives in the iconic cylindrical tube packaging inspired by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr.'s 19th-century designs.

On the nose, the bourbon opens with caramel, vanilla, clove, and a subtle grain sweetness from the four-grain mashbill. The palate is full-bodied with exceptional balance — sweet caramel and vanilla up front, warm rye spice in the mid-palate, a soft wheat roundness, and charred oak tannins at the close. The finish is long and dry, fading into burnt sugar, caramel, and barrel char. This is a limited release sold one bottle per person; once existing stock is gone, it will not be restocked.
