Brotte Les Hauts de Barville Châteauneuf-du-Pape France 750 ml

Les Hauts de Barville is a red Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine from Domaine Barville, produced by the Brotte family of the Southern Rhône Valley in France. The Brotte family has been active as négociants since the company was founded by Charles Brotte in 1931, and their Domaine Barville estate spans 15 hectares within the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.

This wine is crafted from a blend of approximately 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, and 15% Syrah, sourced from multiple lieux-dits including Beau Renard, Bois Dauphin, Combes Masques, les Grandes Serres, Pradel, and les Saintes Vierges. The vines grow in a mix of rocks, sand, limestone, and clay soils. The wine is aged in a combination of foudres, new French oak barrels, used oak casks, and concrete tanks for approximately 12 months. Consulting winemaker Philippe Cambie oversees vineyard management and winemaking.

On the palate, Les Hauts de Barville offers aromas of ripe strawberry, wild strawberries, mulberries, black cherry, licorice, cedar, and Provençal garrigue, with a medium-bodied, elegant, and balanced profile. The wine is best enjoyed within 4–9 years of the vintage and pairs well with classic meat dishes including lamb, beef, duck, and game, as well as roasted and braised preparations, hearty pasta, mushrooms, and Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at approximately 60°F (15.5°C), and decant for one hour to allow aromas to fully open.
