Costco's Fresh Farmed Coho Salmon Steak is a bone-in cut sold by the pound, offering a rich and flavorful eating experience. Coho salmon (also known as silver salmon) is prized for its firm, pink-to-red flesh and mild, delicate flavor that sits between the richness of Atlantic salmon and the leanness of wild-caught varieties.
Salmon steaks are cross-cut sections of the fish that retain the bone, skin, and a ring of flesh, making them ideal for grilling, broiling, baking, or pan-searing. The bone adds flavor during cooking and helps the steak hold its shape. Cook to an internal temperature of 125–130°F for medium, or 140°F for well done. Farmed coho salmon is a good source of high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids, including EPA and DHA, which support heart and brain health.
