A rich and peaty Islay single malt Scotch whisky from the legendary Ardbeg distillery, An Oa is named after the Mull of Oa, the southwestern peninsula of Islay that shields the Kildaton coast from the Atlantic. Introduced in 2017 as the first permanent addition to Ardbeg's core range in over a decade, it was crafted to showcase a more approachable, rounded character while retaining the distillery's signature smoky style.

Matured in a combination of virgin oak, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and bourbon barrels, the component whiskies are brought together in Ardbeg's French oak Gathering Vat to create a layered, harmonious expression. Bottled at 46% ABV (93.2 proof), it earned 93 points from Whisky Advocate.

The nose delivers vanilla, freshly cut oak, sea salt, and gentle peat smoke with notes of sweet lemon rind, ginger, and angelica. On the palate, vanilla and salted caramel mingle with stone fruit, citrus, and a wave of peaty warmth, building into black tea, peppery cloves, and aniseed. The finish is long, smoky, and satisfying, with oak fading gracefully into lingering peat and spice.
