Monterey Sluggo Plus is a pelleted bait formulated to control slugs, snails, earwigs, cutworms, sowbugs, pillbugs, crickets, and ants (excluding fire ants, harvester ants, pharaoh's ants, and carpenter ants) in residential outdoor settings. This improved formulation combines two active ingredients: iron phosphate (0.97%), which occurs naturally in soil and breaks down into fertilizer over time, and Spinosad (0.07%), derived from a naturally-occurring soil dwelling bacterium. The product is OMRI listed for organic gardening, meaning it complies with all organic standards under the USDA's National Organic Program.

The granular bait can be scattered around vegetables, fruit trees, citrus, berries, ornamentals, shrubs, flowers, trees, lawns, gardens, and in non-commercial greenhouses. One pound treats up to 2,000 square feet and remains effective for up to four weeks. The bait is weather-resistant and will not wash away with rain or sprinkling, though reapplication is recommended after heavy rainfall to ensure bait remains available to pests. Apply at 0.5 to 1 lb per 1,000 square feet, using the higher rate for severe infestations. Evening application is recommended as slugs and snails typically feed at night. For best results, lightly wet extremely dry soil before applying.

The product is safe to use around pets and wildlife when used as directed. Do not apply in piles, directly to water, or more than three times in a 30-day period. Do not apply within three days of harvest to edible crops.
