Wild-caught Alaskan sea cucumber, sold fresh per pound. Harvested from the pristine waters of the Gulf of Alaska, these sea cucumbers are whole-cooked and offered as a premium seafood delicacy prized in East Asian cuisine for their distinctive chewy texture and high nutritional value.
Alaskan sea cucumbers are raised in cold, clean ocean waters with minimal human activity, resulting in strong muscle development and firm, flavorful meat. Their nutrient-rich flesh is high in protein, low in calories and fat, and contains omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and essential minerals. The cold-water growth environment contributes to an exceptionally dense and nutrient-concentrated product compared to sea cucumbers from warmer regions.
Sea cucumbers can be prepared by braising, stir-frying, or slow-cooking in soups and stews. They are a staple ingredient in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines, valued for their ability to absorb surrounding flavors while contributing a silky, gelatinous texture to dishes. They pair well with mushrooms, abalone, and rich savory sauces.
