The Hess Persson Estates Lion Tamer Red Blend is a Malbec-led wine from Napa Valley, crafted to balance rich fruit character with the best of the valley's unusual varietals. Mouthwatering tannins frame layers of black cherry, blueberry, boysenberry, and cassis, with subtle notes of milk chocolate and baking spice on a lingering oak-kissed finish. The wine is produced at the Lions Head Cellar using progressive winemaking technology, including optical sorting for berry quality and cutting-edge fermentation tanks for precise 24/7 monitoring.

The 2022 vintage blend is composed of 60% Malbec, 15% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot. It was aged 17 months in 40% new French oak barrels and carries 14.3% alcohol by volume. Winemaker Stephanie Pope sources the Malbec from Mount Veeder, lending the wine its signature tannin structure and fruit concentration. The 2022 vintage earned 92 points from both James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.
