The Tenute Girolamo Conte Giangirolamo is a bold Italian red wine from the Puglia IGT appellation, crafted by the Girolamo family estate nestled in the heart of the Itria Valley. This expressive blend of 50% Primitivo and 50% Negroamaro — two of Puglia's most celebrated indigenous grape varieties — reflects the family's deep-rooted passion for their land and their commitment to combining modern research with traditional winemaking methods. The first vines were planted around 2001 across 50 hectares of vineyard, with the full estate completed in 2006.
The wine pours a deep, intense ruby red with violet hues. On the nose, it opens with an inviting bouquet of ripe cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant, layered with elegant spice aromas of bay leaf, vanilla, chocolate, and black pepper. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and harmonious, with a well-integrated tannic structure, vibrant acidity, and a long, lingering finish. Reviewers on CellarTracker have praised it for its smoothness and excellent value, awarding it an average score of 88.4 points. Decanting for 30 minutes is recommended to open up the full aromatic complexity. Pairs well with ossobuco, roasted meats, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes.
