Pico Maccario Lavignone is a classic Barbera d'Asti DOCG from Piedmont, Italy, produced by the Maccario family estate in Mombaruzzo. The winery was founded in 1997 by brothers Pico and Vitaliano Maccario after four generations of selling the family's grapes to other producers. Today the estate owns 70 contiguous hectares of vineyards, an extraordinary 60 of which are planted exclusively to Barbera — one of the largest single-variety Barbera estates in the appellation.

This wine is crafted in a fresh, approachable style with fermentation and aging in stainless steel to preserve the grape's natural vibrancy. It pours a bright ruby red and offers expressive aromas of pomegranate, cherry, boysenberry, violets, and subtle wild herbs. On the palate it is fruit-forward and medium-bodied with lively acidity, soft tannins, and a clean, energetic finish. Rated 92 points by Falstaff Magazine and praised by Wine Spectator, it is drinkable now and through 2028.

An ideal everyday Italian red that pairs beautifully with pasta, pizza, grilled meats, charcuterie, and aged cheeses. It may also be served slightly chilled for a refreshing warm-weather option.
