Frey Vineyards Biodynamic Zinfandel is a rich, full-bodied red wine from Mendocino County's Redwood Valley AVA in California. The wine bursts with intense raspberry and blackberry fruit flavors leading to a long finish of cedar and cocoa, with dense black cherry notes, lively tannins, and a touch of mesquite.
Frey Vineyards is America's first certified organic winery, founded in 1980, and produced the country's first certified Biodynamic wine in 1996. Grapes are sourced from the Home Ranch in Redwood Valley — including old vines from the Road D vineyards — and fermented using wild indigenous yeast, allowing the complexity of the season and site to express themselves fully. The wine is made with no added sulfites, no cultured yeast, no malolactic cultures, and no acid, sugar, or flavor adjustments of any kind.
Certified Demeter Biodynamic, USDA Organic, and Non-GMO Project Verified, this wine is also vegan-friendly and low in sugar. It received a Silver rating with a "Highly Recommended" designation at the BTI Eco Wine Challenge. Pairs well with grilled game, heirloom tomato salad, and Italian cuisine.
