Hanzell Sebella Pinot Noir is a coastal California red wine sourced from select vineyard sites along the Sonoma Coast, crafted by Hanzell Vineyards โ a historic Sonoma winery founded by James Zellerbach following a transformative trip to Burgundy in 1952. The Sebella bottling represents Hanzell's Sonoma Coast expression, guided by winemaker Jason Jardine, a proponent of integrated farming practices that exclude all chemical inputs in favor of cover crops and no-till viticulture.
This wine is made through native yeast fermentation with whole-cluster inclusion, then aged for ten months in neutral French oak to preserve fruit transparency and coastal freshness. The result is a supple, medium-bodied Pinot Noir that is dry and food-friendly. Intriguing aromas of pomegranate, Bing cherry, cranberry, wild blueberry, tangerine, cherry tobacco, and redwood forest floor give way to a velvety, taut palate with notes of blood orange and kumquat. Earthy, fruity, and minerally in style, the wine is lifted and beautifully balanced with fine, mouth-coating tannins.
