Albert Bichot Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "Les Sorbets" is a Premier Cru red Burgundy from one of France's most celebrated négociant-éleveur houses. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine comes from the Les Sorbets vineyard in Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious village in the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard's name derives from the sorbier (rowan) trees historically found on the parcel, which sits at approximately 250 metres altitude along Burgundy's renowned limestone escarpment.
Albert Bichot was founded in 1831 in Monthélie, near Beaune, and has remained a family enterprise through six generations. Today led by Albéric Bichot, the house oversees 250 acres of estate vineyards across five of Burgundy's great viticultural regions—Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Beaujolais—practicing sustainable viticulture throughout. Their six domaines include the famed Domaine Long-Depaquit in Chablis and Domaine du Clos-Frantin in the Côte de Nuits.
Les Sorbets opens with a fragrant nose of wild raspberry, sour cherry, and strawberry, complemented by earthy undertones of leather, forest floor, and gentle oak. On the palate the wine delivers excellent structure with swirling flavors of redcurrant, raspberry, cranberry, and a lingering hint of licorice. The finish is long and refined, hallmarks of a well-made Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru. Available as a case of six 750ML bottles.
