Beaux Frères "The Beaux Frères Vineyard" Pinot Noir is a celebrated single-vineyard wine from Ribbon Ridge, a sub-appellation of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The winery was co-founded in 1986 by Michael G. Etzel and his brother-in-law, renowned wine critic Robert Parker, on an 88-acre farm near Newberg, Yamhill County.
The vineyard spans 30 acres of steep, contiguous southeast-, south-, and southwest-facing hillsides of Willakenzie soils at elevations around 400 feet. Vines were planted in 1988 and today yield small quantities of intensely flavored, phenolic-rich fruit. Fermentation relies on spontaneous, indigenous "wild" yeast and is tended by hand with traditional punch-downs and pump-overs throughout fermentation. The result is a deeply expressive, terroir-driven Pinot Noir consistently ranked among the top wines of Ribbon Ridge. Average retail price is approximately $125 per 750ml bottle.
