Intrinsic Red Blend is a Washington State Bordeaux-style red wine from Intrinsic Wine Co., sourced from premier vineyard sites throughout the Columbia Valley and Horse Heaven Hills American Viticultural Areas (AVAs). The blend typically includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, coming in at 14.5% alcohol by volume.

What sets this wine apart is its unconventional winemaking process. After fermentation, 50% of the grapes remain on the skins for approximately nine months — far longer than the industry standard of under one month. In an additional twist, the varietals undergo cross-skin aging: Cabernet Franc is fermented on Malbec skins and Malbec on Cabernet Franc skins, drawing out each grape's intrinsic character while mellowing tannins and creating an unexpectedly silky texture. A portion of the wine is fermented in concrete tanks, and 50% of the final blend is aged in neutral French oak. The label features original street art collaborations as an expression of the wine's bold, unconventional spirit.

The wine opens with refined aromas of raspberry, white tea leaves, fresh mint, and lavender. On the palate, layers of milk chocolate, fig reduction, dark plum, and licorice root unfold, with an angular yet sophisticated texture and chocolate ganache details on the finish. Pairs excellently with beef, game meats such as venison, mature hard cheeses, and mushroom dishes. Contains sulfites.
