The Camus Borderies VSOP is a single-estate cognac produced exclusively from grapes grown on Camus family vineyards within the Borderies appellation โ the smallest and rarest of the six Cognac AOC crus in France. Spanning over 188 hectares, Camus holds the largest vineyard extension belonging to a single producer in the Borderies, where distinctive clay-limestone soils impart the region's signature deep floral and spicy character. The eaux-de-vie are aged a minimum of four years to earn the VSOP designation, and the finished spirit is bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose reveals enticing notes of vanilla pods and orange zest on a bed of soft spice and floral aromas, with nuances of cedar, butterscotch, and violets. On the palate it is ample and unctuous, with a robust yet elegant structure and concentrated flavors of orange, vanilla, and gentle woodiness. The finish is long, well-balanced, and wonderfully fresh.
Camus has been independently owned and operated since 1863, with five generations of the Camus family dedicated to expressing the character of Borderies terroir. This VSOP is the most awarded cognac in its category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition from 2013 to 2018, earning Double Gold Medal and Best Cognac VSOP honors in both 2015 and 2019. It arrives in a curvaceous contemporary bottle presented inside an elegant gift box, making it an exceptional choice for the cognac enthusiast or as a distinguished gift. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as the base for classic cognac cocktails.
