Arnaldo Rivera Barolo Undicicomuni is a celebrated DOCG wine from the Piedmont region of Italy, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from eleven villages across the Barolo growing area. The wine is named in tribute to Arnaldo Rivera, a beloved primary school teacher and mayor of Castiglione Falletto who founded the Terre del Barolo cooperative in 1958.
Crafted by Terre del Barolo in partnership with its network of growers, this Barolo undergoes a reduced oak-aging regime of approximately 26 months — shorter than the typical Barolo requirement — resulting in a more approachable, fruit-forward style while retaining the complexity and structure characteristic of the appellation. Approximately 50,000 bottles are produced per vintage.
The wine presents aromas of spiced cedar, leather, and scorched earth on the nose. On the palate, it delivers flavors of crushed raspberry, dried figs, cinnamon, and star anise, with velvety dusty tannins and a long finish. Pairs beautifully with braised meats, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes.
