Jax Cafe is a historic steakhouse and restaurant located at 1928 University Avenue NE in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Originally founded in 1910, Jax Cafe has been serving steaks and seafood since 1933, when it received one of the city's first liquor licenses after Prohibition. A beloved Minneapolis landmark, the restaurant is renowned for its Prime Rib, Bone-In Steer Tenderloin, New York Strip steaks, fresh Maine Lobster from a live saltwater tank, and Rainbow Trout netted from an on-site Olde World Garden stream (available April through October). The menu also reflects the area's Polish heritage with pierogis, sausage, and sauerkraut.
