Nikka Whisky From the Barrel is a bold Japanese blended whisky that harmonizes over 100 malt and grain whiskies from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. Created in 1985 by master blender Shigeo Sato, this whisky delivers full flavors and richness straight from the barrel. Bottled at 51.4% ABV (102.8 proof), it was specifically designed to deliver maximum flavor impact.

The whisky offers a remarkably balanced and elegant profile with tremendous depth of flavor. Soft, sweet butterscotch and orange peel meet poached pears and stone fruits. Earthy notes appear as dried autumn leaves, coffee, old oak, and tobacco. The palate features a complex tangle of spices including chili pepper, allspice, cloves, and prominent ginger notes, with wisps of smoke and sea salt. The grain whisky lends broad sweetness and a supple mouthfeel across the long finish.

After blending, the liquid marriage rests in used casks for 3-6 months to stabilize and harmonize. The unique squared bottle design represents "a small lump of whisky," perfectly visualizing the rich and strong taste within.
