Albert Bichot Fixin Pinot Noir is a village-level AOC red wine from the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, France, crafted entirely from Pinot Noir grapes. Fixin sits between Dijon and Gevrey-Chambertin, where calcareous clay soils with localized marls produce wines known for exceptional value among Burgundy's finest appellations.
The wine opens with a delicate nose of flowers — rose and violet — alongside fresh red fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry. On the palate it is fleshy and structured with a fresh character, subtle oak influence, and a long, spicy finish. Grapes are hand-picked and fermented in temperature-controlled conical oak vats for 18–21 days, then aged in oak barrels (20–30% new) for 14–16 months. Serve at 15–16°C (59–61°F). Aging potential of 5–7 years or more.
Pairs well with roasted or stewed meats including beef, lamb, duck, and game, as well as medium to mature cheeses. Recent critical acclaim includes 92/100 from James Suckling (2023 vintage), 91/100 from Wine Advocate, and 16/20 from Jancis Robinson.
