Klinker Brick Winery's Old Ghost is a celebrated Old Vine Zinfandel sourced from century-old head-trained vines along the Mokelumne River in Lodi, California. These ancient vines yield less than one ton per acre, producing deeply concentrated dark fruit that has earned Old Ghost a devoted cult following since its debut. The name was inspired by the Tule Fog that rises from the valley floor each winter, lending the vineyards a haunting, ghostly atmosphere.

The winemaking process begins with a 14-day fermentation in oak, during which the fruit has early oak contact to build subtle wood character and soften tannins. The wine then undergoes a 10-day post-fermentation maceration on the skins, giving it its signature opaque, ruby-red color. It is subsequently aged for 18 months in a blend of 60% American and 40% French oak barrels.

Old Ghost delivers layers of brambleberry, spiced cherries, plums, chocolate, and cola, with nuances of mint and licorice on the finish. It is a full-bodied, structured wine with impressive depth. Approximately 5,000 cases are produced each year and typically sell out quickly. Pairs especially well with beef, lamb, and spicy dishes.
