Kinsella Estates Jersey Boys Cabernet Sauvignon is a critically acclaimed single-vineyard red wine sourced exclusively from the estate's 6-acre Jersey Boys Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, California. Founded in 2007 by entrepreneur Kevin Kinsella, the estate takes its name from the Broadway musical "Jersey Boys," which Kinsella helped bring to the stage and screen. Crafted entirely from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon using four distinct clones personally selected by renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, the vineyard was replanted in 2008 and grows in loamy, metamorphic soils with vines averaging 15 years of age.
Each vintage is aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (75% new) to achieve its signature depth and complexity. The wine presents intense aromas and flavors of dark black cherry, cassis, blueberry, blackcurrant, and black raspberry, with layered notes of black tea, savory herbs, tobacco, cedar, anise, and earth. It is full-bodied with beautifully polished, integrated tannins and a long, lush finish. Production is extremely limited at under 800 cases per vintage. Multiple vintages have earned scores of 90–96 points from Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Spectator, and Vinous. The wine pairs well with grilled meats, vegetables, and dark chocolate. ABV is 14.5%.
