Château Teyssier is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru red Bordeaux blend from one of the region's most storied estates, established in the early 18th century in Vignonet and acquired in 1994 by Jonathan and Lyn Maltus. The estate encompasses approximately 50 hectares of vineyards across Saint-Émilion and neighboring appellations.
This wine is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, displaying a dark, deep red color with violet reflections. The nose offers black forest fruits characteristic of Merlot — blackberry, blueberry, currant, and plum — followed by vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is soft and juicy with velvety tannins, medium-full body, and elegant acidity. The finish is fragrant, fresh, and precise with fine powdery tannins. Alcohol content is 14.5%.
This wine pairs well with pork tenderloin, rare steak, and aged cheeses such as Parmesan or Comté. It can be enjoyed immediately or cellared for up to 20 years. Opening 30 minutes before serving allows the wine to open up. The 2019 vintage achieved an average rating of 93 points and the estate has won Berlin Wine Trophy Gold awards for recent vintages.
