Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is the prestigious second wine of Château Clerc Milon, an 1855 Fifth Growth classified estate in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. First produced with the 2009 vintage and released starting in 2015, this wine was created to offer an approachable, earlier-drinking expression of the estate's exceptional terroir.
The wine is crafted from five traditional Bordeaux grape varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Carmenere — carefully balanced to reflect both the estate and the character of each vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, complex aromas, and impressive aging potential; Merlot lends a full, smooth, velvety texture; Cabernet Franc adds a touch of freshness; Petit Verdot contributes spice and depth; and Carmenere imparts delicate hints of wilting rose petals and violet.
The wine displays a beautifully clear garnet red with violet undertones. The refined, delicate nose offers ripe morello cherry notes accompanied by subtle hints of licorice and toast. On the palate, it starts smooth and soft, gaining structure from finely crafted tannins that reveal flavors of red fruits, dark chocolate, and dried flowers. The experience ends with a harmonious and succulent finish, with a touch of fresh mint. Appellation Pauillac Contrôlée (AOC), 13.5% alcohol by volume.
