Pazo de Villarei Albariño is a crisp white wine from the Rías Baixas denomination in Galicia, northwest Spain. Produced by Bodegas Pazo de Villarei, the estate spans 81 hectares in the Salnés subregion, centered around the historic town of Cambados, the heartland of Albariño production. The label features a Celtic knot motif honoring the Celts who first inhabited the region over two thousand years ago.

The vineyards sit between 100 and 300 meters above sea level along the banks of the River Umia, where shallow, sandy soils and a temperate, humid maritime climate allow the grapes to ripen slowly while preserving vibrant acidity and aromatic intensity. The wine undergoes a natural, extended fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at very low temperatures to retain all the aromatic potential of the Albariño grape.

On the nose, expect fresh lemons, lychee, dried herbs, and exotic spices. The palate is medium-bodied and soft with flavors of pink grapefruit, caramelized pineapple, and yellow bell pepper, finishing bright and supple. This wine pairs beautifully with shellfish, crab, lobster, and other seafood. The 2023 vintage was awarded Gold at the International Wine Challenge, and the 2020 vintage received Gold from Mundus Vini.
