Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is the pinnacle expression from Groth Vineyards & Winery's estate in Oakville, Napa Valley. Representing the finest lots from the Reserve blocks on their Oakville Estate, this wine is composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, aged 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels and an additional 14 months in bottle before release. The vineyard is a 12.10-acre site with a unique soil profile rich in chert — a hard, compact sedimentary rock comprising quartz crystals and fossils — that contributes to the wine's distinctive character. The estate has been sustainably farmed and Fish Friendly Farming certified since 2014.

This wine presents a compelling bouquet of deep red and black fruits, with prominent aromas of fresh blackberry, rich dark cassis, and black currant. Fine herbs, ancho chili, allspice, sesame, and hints of menthol add intriguing complexity. On the palate, sun-ripened wild blackberry leads to indulgent notes of chocolate-covered black cherry and tobacco leaf, with a hint of gingerbread spice and soft yet powerful tannins. The finish is lingering and extended, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and depth. Alcohol content is 14.5%.
