Scott Harvey Zinfandel from Amador County, California, showcases the rich heritage of Sierra Foothills winemaking. Crafted by Scott Harvey, who has over 46 years of experience making Zinfandel from Amador County, this wine embodies old-world style balanced winemaking with European training and deep understanding of California terroir.
This Zinfandel is produced from grapes grown in the Shenandoah Valley and Fiddletown regions of Amador County, where decomposed granite and reddish volcanic soils at elevations of 1,200 to 2,000 feet provide excellent acid and tannin structure. The region's Gold Rush era vineyards, some dating back to 1869, contribute to the area's reputation for exceptional old vine Zinfandel.
Tasting characteristics typically include dense and complex aromas of black currant, black cherry, black plum, and dried potpourri with notes of cardamom and spice. The palate features wild berry flavors, red plum, strawberry, pomegranate, mulled spice, cracked black pepper, clove, and bittersweet chocolate with firm tannins and a lingering finish. The wines are loaded with berry and spice flavors characteristic of Amador County's finest Zinfandels, crafted in an approachable, balanced style that complements any meal.
Each case contains 12 bottles of 750ml.
