Red Spot is a premium single pot still Irish whiskey, triple-distilled and aged for a minimum of 15 years in a carefully curated combination of American Bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, and Sicilian Marsala wine casks. Crafted from an old recipe handed down by the Mitchell & Son family of wine merchants — with records dating back to the early 1900s — Red Spot represents a reimagining of a whiskey that was last seen over 50 years ago. The whiskey was reborn when Marsala fortified wine casks were procured from Sicily in the early 2000s, with the spirit beginning its lengthy maturation in 2004.

The nose offers pot still spices with rich cooked fruit, baked apple, mango, and black cherry, complemented by hazelnut and a touch of new leather fused with toasted American Oak. On the palate, ripe fruit sweetness from the Marsala-seasoned wine casks mingles with sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper, finishing with notes of American Oak and barley. The finish is exceptionally long, delivering an extended infusion of fruits and spices. Bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), Red Spot sits at the pinnacle of the Spot Whiskey range, prized by collectors and enthusiasts seeking a superior aged Irish whiskey.
