Kirin Ichiban is a premium Japanese lager brewed using a unique "first press" method, where only the first press of the wort is used to capture the most flavorful and refined portion of the finest ingredients. Founded in 1885 as the Japan Brewery Company, Kirin began brewing beer in 1888. Kirin Ichiban—whose name means "number one" in Japanese—was launched in 1990 and has since become one of Japan's most celebrated premium lagers. Each can contains 4.95% alcohol by volume.
