Sokol Blosser Evolution Pinot Noir is a 100% Pinot Noir from Oregon's premier wine-growing region, the Willamette Valley. Produced by Sokol Blosser Winery, one of Oregon's pioneering estates founded in 1971 in the Dundee Hills, the Evolution label sources grapes from select vineyards across the Willamette Valley appellation to create a consistently approachable and expressive style. This Costco offering is sold as a case of 12 bottles, each 750ml.
The wine is fermented for approximately 7 to 10 days and then aged in stainless steel tanks with submerged oak staves to add subtle structure without overwhelming the fruit. Residual sugar sits at approximately 5 g/L, lending a soft, crowd-pleasing character. The Evolution Pinot Noir has earned 92 points from James Suckling across multiple vintages, reflecting its quality-to-value reputation.
On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of fresh strawberry, cherry, cola, leather, licorice, and mint with an earthy underpinning. On the palate it offers good balance with slightly candied fruit flavors, a smooth mouthfeel, vibrant acidity, and touches of baking spice and earth. The finish is dry and lingering.
